Mr. Walters holds a bachelor's degree in music education from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, where he was a tuba player and Drum Major for Marching Musical Machine of the Mid-South Marching Band. He holds a Master of Music degree in Wind Conducting from the University of Texas at El Paso, Where he studied with Dr. Bradley Genevro. He is currently completing his Doctorate in Music Education from Liberty University.

 

Prior to coming to Cypress Park, Mr. Walters was the Director of Bands at Heights High School in Houston, TX. His bands have consistently received superior ratings in UIL Marching and Concert Sightreading. Prior to Heights, Mr. Walters taught in both Nashville and Memphis, TN. He has been Teacher of they Year and 2x Grammy Music Educator Award Quarterfinalist. His affiliations include Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity Inc. Texas Bandmasters Association, and Texas Music Educators Association. In his spare time he enjoys spending quality time with his family and friends.
